Nuwara Eliya, also known as Sri Lanka’s “Little England”, is the prime hill resort of the country. At a height of approximately 2000m above sea level, the city has an abundance of lush tea plantations and jaw dropping scenery. Its nickname comes from the many English style bungalows and buildings still in existence today. During the colonial times, it was a popular mountain resort and has retained its popularity as a holiday destination even today. For those who are frustrated with the humid heat of Colombo, Nuwara Eliya is a good escape location for a relaxing break. The hill station is popular for its fresh, cool and breezy climate throughout the year.

Gregory Lake
Constructed during the period of British Governor Sir William Gregory, the Gregory Reservoir stands in the heart of the tea country, hill city of Sri Lanka, ready to welcome any and all guests willing to bask in the beauty of the chilly streets of Nuwara Eliya.
Victoria Park
Originally based as a testing ground for the Hakgala Botanical Gardens and was formally named to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, perfect for a cool and calm walk through the greenery that is Nuwara Eliya.
Old Post Office
One of the most iconic buildings in Sri Lanka, and is located in the center of Nuwara-Eliya, and known as one of the oldest post offices in Sri Lanka. Its Tudor Style, Two-Storey Red Building out layer was one of the main reasons it is unique in its very own way.
Seetha Amman Hindu Temple
A colourful Hindu Temple named after Lord Rama’s wife, is built on the exact location where the legend Ramayana believed that Seetha was made prisoner by the demon King Ravana. The temple trustees believe that this is no myth and that Sita’s imprisonment at this spot is a historical fact.
Visit Beautiful Tea Factory and Tea Plantation
Sri Lanka is known for its massive and astounding tea plantations where tea is grown, plucked, and manufactured into different flavours of tea powder. You get the unique opportunity to visit one of the tea factories where you will learn about and be a part of the plucking and manufacturing process.
Ramboda Water Falls
One of the highest waterfalls in Sri Lanka, 11 in number to be exact, this beautiful piece of nature has been running for the past couple of years and has been able to dazzle and amaze almost all its visitors by the unique flow of nature running through its system. Ramboda Waterfalls is indeed one of the most ideal locations to be, and relaxation and bamboozlement is guaranteed.
